SPACE BOY - Daytona Starsky

DIRECTOR / CINEMATOGRAPHER / EDITOR

I'm happy to unveil the official music video for Daytona Starsky's Space Boy. Official feature on VEVO. We had fun with this one. All of the green screen looking shots were actually done in-camera with rear projection, the same technique used in old-timey movies to simulate a moving background. It was a technique I wanted to try and I think it sell the campy, surreal vibe that we were going for.

Support our film: https://www.gofundme.com/disempoweredfilm In the fall of 2017 Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, wiping out the electric grid and plunging 3 million people into the worst blackout in US history. Roughly 3000 people died in the months after the storm and thousands lived in the dark for nearly a year. How could this happen? Our film, “Dis.em.POWER.ed,” finds no “natural” disaster, but instead a “perfect storm” of debt crisis, corruption, manipulation by Big Oil and Wall Street, an electric utility that was bankrupt before Maria, and the burdens of colonialism that has left Puerto Rico with a dying economic model and a legacy of heavy oil dependence.

"The Secret Number" is a short sci-fi (ish) psychological drama that was created over a period of two years by a team of young filmmakers from the Savannah College of Art and Design. http://secretnumber.colinlevy.com Based on the short story by Igor Teper, THE SECRET NUMBER is about a man whose world is thrown into question. Psychiatrist Simon Tomlin (Daniel Jones) has a troubling conversation with one of his patients - a brilliant mathematician named Ersheim (Tom Nowicki), who intends to prove the existence of a secret integer between three and four. Ersheim's delusion compels Tomlin to dig deeper, but he only uncovers more questions -- about fate, connection… the nature of reality.
